Learn More About Shauna (she/her)

Shauna has vivid childhood memories riding horses with her father and sister on the rolling hills of the prairies.   The sense of wildness, connection and freedom resonate to this day.  Galloping across open fields stirred up something deep inside and created a sense of wildness and wonder that set the foundation for what would later be the blending of her counselling expertise with the healing potential of horses.

Shauna’s professional career as a Registered Clinical Counsellor, spanning over 20 years, has focused on empowering other’s to find connection, growth and healing in the relationship they have with themselves and with others.

Shauna has a Master’s degree from UBC and has worked in a variety of settings including universities, hospitals, pediatric clinics, mental health centres and private practice providing therapy, supervision, curriculum development, training and research.

Balancing her career, motherhood, the loss of her sister, and personal health challenges led Shauna back to nature, reigniting her connection with horses and sparking a personal healing journey.  Now completing her FEEL Certification (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning), she provides Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy for adults.

Renowned for her warmth, empathy, and acceptance, Shauna encourages recognition of your inner strength, while her gentle persistence inspires lasting personal growth and healing.  Liberty work with horses fosters connection, awareness, and reflection.  Horses act as mirrors reflecting how we show up in our lives.  They provide honest pure feedback without judgement, shame or blame.  Horses resonate with authenticity and provide opportunity for connection to our emotions and inner experience while learning to trust our intuition and set healthy boundaries.
